Alma’s POV
Visiting some interesting sites with my cute bunny plush is one of my favorite things to do. Whenever I have day-offs from work or I can have some time on weekends, I usually take Peter Rabbit on a day-out or just going to a cafe and relax. Definitely, he is always with me. I love taking photos of him in the places that we went to. I’ve never felt ashamed taking him out of my bag, and putting him on the area where I could capture best shot. I am happy having my travel bunny with me. 🙂
1. At the Santo Niño Church in Cebu, Philippines

Peter Rabbit’s POV :
My human and I visited one of the oldest churches in her city. It is called Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño de Cebu. This was built during the Spanish Era in Philippines. If you love history, it would be interesting to read! But I am bunny lazy now, so just check the link below 🙂
This is the church where my human usually attends mass. I think this place is very close to her heart. Of course, many people visit to this holy place too and I am the only bunny who has been here so far! After she prayed inside, we approached the fountain in the small courtyard. She took a coin in her purse and closed her eyes. Hmmm, I think she was making a wish! I also did a silent bunny wish when she threw the coin into it.
This church is really great and it is historical. More than that, it is also considered miraculous.

Alma’s POV :
Church is indeed a great place to relax your mind and find your inner peace. The feeling when you are in this holy place is truly amazing. The ambiance has a reflection of spiritual healing, and that all the worries you have in your heart fade away. I usually go to this church every weekend, to attend the holy mass and to pray.

2. The Magellan’s Cross

Peter Rabbit’s POV :
Next stop, we went to this famous site nearby the church. My human said that
this cross has a very significant part in the history of Cebu, Philippines. It was planted upon the arrival of Spanish explorers on March 1521, led by Ferdinand Magellan. Actually, I don’t know who is he! Hmm, obviously that time he arrived, we weren’t born yet (bunny laugh). However, it is always written in the book of history.
In this place, many people visit and take photos of the cross and its background. But, I think I’ve got the best shot! 🙂
Alma’s POV :
The Spanish colonization of the Philippines was based on their aims which were called the 3 G’s : GOD, GOLD, and GLORY. This cross symbolized the conversion of native Filipino people to Christian religion. There was a tale about this cross. It was believed that the original one which had a healing power was destroyed, so the one standing here now is just a replica.
3. The Heritage of Cebu Monument
This heritage monument represents the historical and significant events in Cebu, Philippines.
It is said that this monument was built by a local artist, named Eduardo Castrillo. This sculpture showcased the coming of the Spaniards and featured the scenes of the baptism of Rajah Humabon, who was the first Filipino chieftain to embrace Christianity, the famous Battle of Mactan as well as the Roman Catholic Mass and the famous Magellan’s Cross. It is made of steel, bronze and concrete brass, and its construction began on July 1997 and was inaugrated on December 2000. It was roughly 3 years of creating this historical landmark.

Peter Rabbit’s POV
My human took me to one of the tourist attractions in her city. I saw a very huge monument and there were many people on it! However, they weren’t moving. I think they were frozen! But wait, it’s never snowy in Philippines ( aha ) Something’s familiar in its structure. Yes,there is the cross that I saw nearby the church that we also visited. My human said the people in the monument are statues. Do you know what’s that mean? It’s just carved figure 🙂 This is amazing. I think the people who made this were all very talented and creative. Oh! look at the man on the monument who was waving his hand. Hey there! I hope you won’t get sunburned under the scorching heat of the sun!

4. Miguel Lopez de Legazpi Monument

We thought it is hardly noticed because only few people visit here, though lots are spending time at the nearby park but they didn’t show any interest of taking time to observe the place. However, this monument is always considered as essential part of the history here. Who is Miguel Lopez Legazpi?
He was a Spanish navigator and governor in Philippines during the colonization. For more information about his expedition, check the link below http://driftwoodjourneys.com/the-legazpi-expedition-to-the-philippines/

Peter Rabbit’s POV
Wow, it looks like a very tall tower! And I look so small. I have never seen like this at Mr. McGregor’s garden in England, only here in Philippines 🙂 Now, I picture out a white radish in my bunny mind XD. I’ve learned from my human that this monument is very important in her city.
Well, I think I am the only bunny who visits here! Indeed, I am very lucky to learn something about the history.
I really love this photo bunny ^much. The whole monument is captured and it’s paw^rfect (perfect) shot 🙂
5. Fort San Pedro and its Museum

This was a military defense structure during the Spanish time in Philippines. It is indeed worth a visit historical place.
It is located in the area called Plaza Independencia in Cebu, Philippines. Inside this place is a museum which you can see some paintings of the historical events and lives of Filipino people.

“We could travel back in time with the displayed old photographs that contain valuable information about the past. I believe that there is something from the history that is essential on how we live in the present. ” _alma.olive

“As a bunny plush, I was never aware of what history is and all these details. But, having my dear human with me, I’ve become acquainted with it. By all means, everything is part of my bunny adventures. I came to realise that as a stuffed animal, you can also experience a lot of substantial things in your plushie life. You are not just a toy or for display.
You could be more than that. How would it be possible? Well, it takes you to be with the right human, who will treat you like a real one; and I’ve got my best person :)”
Be updated with our blogs as we want to share our adventures!
Lots of bunny love,
